Unite centrale de huit bits (2003)

Find submission at Pouet.net

The Sega Master System is based around a Z80 main cpu with 8kb RAM. There's a separate Texas Instruments video chip with 256x192 resolution, and a sound chip providing 3 square wave and one white noise channel. The auxiliary chips are programmed through the Z80 IO ports. I'm amazed by the community at smspower.org that provides documentation for this madness. Also, I suppose I had a lot of spare time during high school.

My co-authors were Illm, a lunatic Sega collector who did the pixel graphics, and Nightbeat who composed the music. (Trivia: me & Illm at the time lived in the very small town in Sweden where DICE was started by demosceners in the late 80's.) I haven't been in touch with them for a long time, but apparently they recently teamed up with an experienced 8-bit coder (Shadow) and released a proper demo called Lambo in 2015. It's awesome.
